Interesting Technology Product Management Post

Hat tip: BusinessPundit. A interesting (but lengthy) post on technology product management by Raj Karamchedu which takes a stance that "Differentiation [is] A Phenonmena, Not a Concept". I think I directionally agree with Raj’s idea, and at a later date I’ll write down some additional thoughts later about applying Raj’s abstract concept to field-level tech situations.

Good Post(s) On Blog Visibility … Will Revisit My Link Policy

Ethan Johnson has a good set of posts on visibility in the blogosphere. Here’s the one the grabbed my attention (you can trackback to the others from his blog). Although I tend not to focus on visibility of new eyeballs for this blog, Ethan’s post made me think about the link policy for this blog, and I realize that my link policy is out-of-date because it doesn’t do much for the majority of people. I don’t know when I’ll update my link policy, but I just wanted to let people know.

The CIO Weblog Has A New Look

The CIO Weblog has a new design look these days as does the rest of the entire Creative Weblogging network of blogs. Thanks to Prashanth Rai (background here, blog here) who has been doing a terrific job as a co-author of The CIO Weblog out of India. As of recent, Prashanth has been taking the lead, and I look forward to continuing to write together with him.

Marc Freedman, publisher of DallasBlue and CEO of RazorPop, has just launched using the 21Publish group blogging service a new service called Blue Blogs for its business network members. DallasBlue was formed 4 years ago as a newsletter created for and by the Dallas Fort-Worth

. Spurred by DallasBlue’s seminar last week
on Internet Publishing, they are now taking the next step to make a community publishing service available to members. This is a great opportunity for members of the Dallas community. Thanks, Marc!

Anyone Want To Call France From The US Free From Landline To Landline?

I had a prior post about some international calling rates (landline to landline) that I suspect are VoIP calls on the trunking part of the call. I think I have about 2.5 hours left on the card (only works for calls from the United States to France [not reverse]). If anyone wants to check it out, feel free to send me an email. I’ll forward to you (for free) the dial-in number and pin. You might be hooked forever. My offer is only for the first person to contact me (sorry – I only have one card number), and my offer expires May 31, 2005.

Acknowledgement of Paul Petersen at Liberty Consulting

I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge Paul Petersen, President of Liberty Consulting, who focuses on projects geared as an assistant to the CIO. I consider Paul a valuable business partner, and we met shortly after I landed ground in Dallas, Texas. Paul gets credit for referring me at the end of last year to both the CIO and COO of a client in the insurance space. He also gets the hat tip so that I could land my first Texas-based client. It’s tough developing a customer base in a new geography, and I sincerely appreciate Paul’s introduction.

A Note On Trackback Attacks

This site has been undergoing some trackback attacks today. IP numbers seem random, but post selection does not (?). Some issues connecting with TypePad server for admin, etc. Perhaps others are encountering the same issue. Depending how extensive this turns out, I may need to shut down the blog for awhile.
